Here I am!

My name’s  Albert Barba Cunill, I’m from Banyoles (Girona, Spain), I was born on the 2nd of June of 1981 and nowadays I work at Catmandú Branded Entertainment (Buenos Aires, Argentina) as a Character Animator. But my professional experience in this industry begins on June of 2011.

I started studying a career, Electronic Art and Digital Design (1999), in ESDI.  I had the opportunity to learn from different creative angles. After university I got a job as a Digital Designer (the main market demmand in that moment) in a Marketing Department of an IT Company for 5 years and a half, starting as a Junior Digital Designer and then, in the end, as the Marketing Department Coordinator of the company. Gradually I realized I really needed to explore other interests, plan other challenges. That’s when I decided  to change my professional direction, I broke with everything and I quit my job. I decided to pursue the dream of my life: become a Character Animator. That’s why I enrolled with Animation Mentor, one of the most important online animation schools in the world.

A couple of months before finishing Animation Mentor, Catmandu saw my Demo Reel and wanted to hire me for an animated feature film called METEGOL. I was sure to take advantage of this opportunity and inmediately I took a flight to Buenos Aires. Since then, I’m still here, feeling myself  as a lucky guy and being able to participate in this amazing experience, learning fast and being surrounded by a fantastic and extremely talented group of people. Basically … living the dream one day I decided to achieve.
